Abstract

The increase in population in Magelang City has led to a high demand for clean water. To address this issue, the Magelang City Government has constructed the Sripunganten Water Supply System (SPAM), which is designed to serve 710 household connections (SR) with a flow rate of approximately 35 liters per second. This study aims to evaluate the design of the Sripunganten clean water supply system, including water demand, reservoir capacity, distribution tanks, and distribution pipeline networks. The methods used in this study include the collection of secondary data, hydraulic analysis using the Darcy-Weisbach method, and flow and pressure simulation using Microsoft Excel. Water demand projections were made for the next 10 years based on population growth. Ground Tank capacity was calculated using the Sequent Peak Method, resulting in a minimum capacity requirement of 212.69 m³. The evaluation results indicate that a pump flow rate of 35 liters/second is sufficient to meet water distribution needs. The pipeline network design with varying diameters of 12, 10, 6, and 4 inches, along with the selection of appropriate pumps and reservoirs, is deemed capable of meeting water needs in the service area in a technically sound and efficient manner. This study provides technical recommendations as evaluation material and reference for planning a sustainable clean water supply system.
