Abstract

The digital era brings new challenges to the moral development of students, particularly with the widespread and unwise use of digital technology among adolescents. This study aims to analyze the strategies of Islamic Religious Education teachers in developing students' morals in the digital era and to identify factors that hinder their implementation. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach at Muhammadiyah 2 Kartasura Middle School. Data collection involved observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data validity was ensured through data triangulation to ensure the validity and reliability of the research results. Data analysis included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that Islamic Religious Education teachers' strategies for developing students' morals are implemented through an educational approach, with open discussions and dialogues to provide rational explanations of the consequences of unwise technology use. Teachers engage students as active subjects responsible for their choices and actions, and recognize their cognitive capacity to understand the impact of digital technology. This strategy faces several obstacles, including limited supervision outside of school, the socioeconomic conditions of lower-middle-class families, which leads to a lack of parental guidance for children in using digital technology, and the influence of students' social circles.
