Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of simile in enhancing literary appreciation and writing skills among students. Utilizing a qualitative method, the study analyzes the structure of the novel, which includes character introduction, plot, and themes. Three types of simile were identified: 15 instances of explicit simile, 8 instances of implicit simile, and 10 instances of figurative simile. The results of the implementation indicate that 61.1% of students felt their understanding of simile improved after the lesson, and 100% of students stated that the use of Wordwall increased their motivation to learn. The study concludes that the integration of literary elements into teaching can enrich students' learning experiences and enhance their poetry writing skills.
