Abstract
This study aims to examine the relationship between religiosity and self-efficacy with students’ anxiety levels in facing the entrance examination for state universities. The research sample consisted of 73 twelfth-grade students of SMAIT Nur Hidayah Sukoharjo, selected from a total population of 306 students using simple random sampling. The research method employed was quantitative correlational, with instruments including a religiosity scale (Karim, 2021), a self-efficacy scale (Rahma, 2022), and an anxiety scale (Pratiwi, 2021). Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression. The results showed that, simultaneously, religiosity and self-efficacy did not have a significant relationship with anxiety (p = 0.137). However, partially, religiosity was not significantly related to anxiety (p = 0.165), while self-efficacy was significantly related to anxiety (p = 0.023). Thus, only the hypothesis concerning the effect of self-efficacy was supported. These findings indicate that self-efficacy is an important factor that can influence students’ anxiety levels in facing university entrance examinations, whereas religiosity has not been proven to play a significant role.
