Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of emotional intelligence and self-worth on the psychological well-being of Gen Z in Surakarta City. The research employed a quantitative correlational approach. The participants consisted of 364 Gen Z respondents in Surakarta City, with data collected using a cluster sampling technique. The data collection methods included psychological well-being, emotional intelligence, and self-worth scales. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate a significant influence of emotional intelligence on psychological well-being, as well as a significant influence of self-worth on psychological well-being. The effective contribution of emotional intelligence and self-worth to psychological well-being was 85.1%, with emotional intelligence accounting for 75.6% and self-worth accounting for 9.5%. To achieve psychological well-being, Gen Z needs to enhance their emotional intelligence.
