Abstract

Indonesia is an area prone to earthquakes, both tectonic and volcanic earthquakes. Earthquake events cannot be predicted. As a result, earthquakes in seismic areas occur suddenly. Many victims were unable to save themselves because they were trapped in a place or lacked information about the earthquake. To overcome this, an innovation was developed that utilizes an earthquake detector with an accelerometer and vibration sensor to detect ground movement or ground vibrations and notify users or residents via an android application when an earthquake occurs. so that this tool can be a solution as one way of early warning of earthquake disasters. In making this earthquake detector, several methods are used, including, the first is to identify system needs then continue with system design, then there is implementation and testing, then the last is writing a research report. This tool consists of an Esp32 microcontroller, accelerometer sensor, vibration sensor and buzzer. The Esp32 microcontroller is used as a data processing tool that is detected by the acceleration sensor and vibration sensor. In conclusion, this tool is able to provide a warning when an earthquake occurs with a scale of more than 5 MMI. In addition, this tool is also able to work optimally for 24 hours because it uses solar panels as its source and a 12 volt battery as automatic storage so that this tool can work optimally when not exposed to sunlight.
