Abstract
Quarter-life crisis is a phase in which individuals entering adulthood experience anxiety in determining the direction of their life and future. This excessive anxiety can be influenced by the quality of interpersonal communication, particularly between parents and children. This study aims to analyze the representation of the quarter-life crisis, understand the interpersonal communication style between parents and children, and examine Roland Barthes' semiotic theory in the film Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap. The research approach employed is semiotic analysis to uncover denotative, connotative, and mythological meanings. The findings indicate that Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap represents the dynamics of communication that play a role in shaping mutual understanding between parents and children, where the communication styles applied by the characters can influence the process of resolving conflicts that emerge during the quarter-life crisis phase.
