Abstract
Population growth and urbanization in Semarang City have increased pressure on housing demand, leading to the emergence of densely populated and uninhabitable settlements. Additionally, rising carbon emissions from the energy sector have exacerbated environmental issues. Kampung Vertikal (Vertical Village) is designed as a solution to provide affordable and livable housing for communities affected by the relocation of slum settlements in Semarang. It adopts the Greenship New Building V1.2 approach, which implements high-efficiency design parameters for operational maintenance while keeping construction costs low. The research employs a deductive-descriptive method, which explains the theoretical foundation through data collection (from literature reviews and field observations), data analysis, and synthesis. This factually accurate approach serves as the basis for determining strategic locations and designing affordable vertical housing for low-income communities. The concept is expected not only to reduce operational costs but also to preserve the social character of traditional urban villages (kampung). The analysis and design implementation for the Vertical Village (Kampung Vertikal) in Semarang, based on the Greenship New Building V1.2 principles, were tailored for affordable housing. This approach prioritizes cost-efficient construction methods while minimizing operational expenses. As a result, the applied assessment parameters ASD, EEC, WAC, MRC, IHC, and BEM achieved a total score of 47 points.
