Abstract

PT Iskandar Indah Printing Textile is a manufacturing company that produces raw cloth. Almost the entire production cloth has been automated, however the cucuk process still relies heavily on human labor. This process involves inserting strands of warp yarn one by one into the weaving comb, making it monotonous, repetitive, and demanding, with a high work target of 5,000 strands per day. This study aims to identify factors that affect the mental workload of cucuk operators and provide recommendations for improvements. The method used are NASA-TLX and DRAWS so that workload can be mapped more specifically and recommendations for improvement can be more precise The results showed 13 people experienced high mental workload and 2 others were very high, with an average NASA-TLX score of 72.22. DRAWS, all operators fall result showed all operators were in the overload category, with the highest score of 78.86. The most influential indicators are mental demand (27%) in NASA-TLX and central demand (31.67%) in DRAWS. This indicates that the mental workload of the cucuk operator comes from concentration, accuracy, and time pressure. Suggested improvements are job rotation based on fabric complexity and adjusting daily targets to the difficulty of the work.
