Abstract

The development of pond-based ecotourism is an integrated approach to coastal area management that combines aquaculture activities, environmental conservation, and educational, sustainable tourism. Margomulyo Village, which holds significant potential in the aquaculture sector, demonstrates a fairly profitable production outcome, with income reaching IDR 6,013,783 per hectare per cycle and a Return Cost Ratio (R/C) of 1.6, indicating that the aquaculture business is feasible and profitable. This potential can be further developed through the implementation of pond-based ecotourism, where fish ponds are not only utilized for production purposes but also serve as tourist destinations that offer educational experiences to visitors about aquaculture processes, coastal ecosystem preservation, and the social dynamics of fishing communities. This approach aims to create a balance between economic, ecological, and social aspects through the empowerment of local communities, the increase of alternative income sources, and the sustainable conservation of natural resources. In the context of regional development, pond-based ecotourism emerges as an innovative solution that optimally utilizes local potential while addressing environmental and social challenges comprehensively.
