Abstract

This research was motivated by the increasing cases of cyberbullying, which significantly impact adolescents' psychological aspects, particularly self-acceptance and self-esteem. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between self-acceptance and self-esteem among adolescents who are victims of cyberbullying. The subjects of this study were 100 adolescents aged 18–22 years residing in Gonilan Village, Kartasura, selected using purposive sampling with specific criteria: having experienced or currently experiencing cyberbullying, emotional sensitivity, and social withdrawal tendencies. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The instruments used were psychological scales to measure self-acceptance and self-esteem variables, and data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation through SPSS 22. The results showed a significant positive relationship between self-acceptance and self-esteem (r = 0.449; p < 0.01), with an effective contribution of 74.2%. The conclusion of this study indicates that the higher the level of self-acceptance, the higher the self-esteem of adolescents who are victims of cyberbullying. The implications of this study highlight the importance of psychological interventions focused on enhancing self-acceptance as an effort to maintain and strengthen adolescents’ self-esteem in the digital era.
