Abstract

Pati Regency is experiencing significant population growth and rising maternal and infant mortality rates, particularly in Juwana District. Despite having several general hospitals, the region lacks specialized facilities that offer integrated maternal and neonatal healthcare services. This limitation increases the risk of delayed medical treatment, which is a leading cause of maternal and infant mortality. Therefore, the construction of a Type B Maternity and Child Hospital (RSIA) in Juwana District is an urgent need. Juwana's strategic location on the Pantura (North Coast) route and proximity to community centers makes it an ideal location for developing specific healthcare services. The design utilizes a biophilic design approach, integrating natural elements such as natural lighting, visual access to nature, the use of natural materials, and natural sounds and aromas. These elements are specifically applied to inpatient wards, lactation rooms, polyclinics, front offices, corridors, and the interior garden. This approach aims to create a more comfortable and healthy healing environment that supports the physical and mental well-being of patients and medical personnel. This RSIA is expected to provide a solution to the need for quality maternal and child healthcare services, while also contributing to improving the health of the wider community in Pati Regency.
