Abstract

Pati Regency is known as one of the regions in Central Java that preserves a rich cultural heritage in the form of the traditional performing art Ketoprak. However, the sustainability of this art form faces several challenges, including a lack of regeneration, insufficient supporting facilities, and the growing dominance of modern culture. Therefore, a cultural space is needed to accommodate the preservation and development of Ketoprak in a sustainable manner. This design report is titled "Designing a Ketoprak Eco-Cultural Hub with a Community-Based Design Approach in Pati." The objective is to design a cultural and arts center that serves not only as a performance venue but also as a hub for education and community interaction, emphasizing ecological principles and community involvement. The community-based design approach is chosen to ensure that the design process is grounded in active community participation. The design method applies a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including literature review, observation, interviews, and comparative studies. The design results in spatial zoning divided into public, semi-public, private, and service areas, with a massing concept that is open, flexible, and responsive to the local climate and character. Ecological integration is implemented through the use of water resources, natural ventilation, local materials, and the creation of functional green open spaces. This design aims to be a strategic solution for preserving local cultural arts and a model for implementing community-based design with ecological considerations.
