Abstract

SMA IT Nur Hidayah (Girls’ Campus) has experienced a significant increase in student enrollment, growing from 120 to 450 students over the past 15 years. This rapid development has led to various spatial, comfort, and facility efficiency challenges. Key issues include overcrowded classrooms, limited worship facilities, and dependence on the boys’ campus for science laboratory access. Additionally, the 400-meter physical separation between campuses affects the effectiveness of learning activities. Using a redevelopment approach, the redesign involves demolishing and reconstructing inadequate building elements while integrating Islamic architectural principles that emphasize thermal comfort, natural lighting, green open spaces, and Islamic visual identity. The design process is based on literature review, field observation, interviews, and user surveys. Analysis indicates the need for a more efficient spatial layout, representative worship facilities, and learning spaces that support both the spiritual and academic development of students. This redesign aims to establish SMA IT Nur Hidayah as a model of a high-quality, functional, and character-driven integrated Islamic school.
