Abstract

The development of literacy in the modern era demands the availability of facilities that are not only functional, but also able to create psychological comfort for its users. This study designs a literacy center in Karanganyar Regency with a neuroarchitecture approach, namely an architectural design approach that considers the cognitive, emotional, and sensory responses of users to space. Through a neuroarchitecture-based design approach, the concept that is carried emphasizes the principles of biophilia, sensory stimulation, and social interaction. Elements such as natural lighting, vegetation, intuitive circulation flows, and open and closed space zoning are the main foundations in forming an adaptive, and interactive reading room. This design is expected to be able to create a literacy space that supports improving the quality of education, community interaction, and mental health through architectural design that is responsive to human behavior and perception.
