Abstract

The Kaligua Tea Plantation in Brebes has great potential as a nature-based edutourism area that has not been fully developed, as there are no structured educational facilities or other supporting infrastructure with standards of comfort and sustainability. This study aims to design a tea edutourism area that integrates biophilic architecture principles to enhance the tourist experience, environmental comfort, and sustainability. The methods used include literature reviews, field observations, interviews with managers, and case studies. The design outcomes include educational facilities such as a tea education café, tourist trails that blend with the landscape, and eco-friendly accommodations in the form of villas and glamping sites. The biophilic concept is applied through visual connections with nature, natural ventilation and lighting, and the use of local materials. It is hoped that this design will strengthen Kaligua's identity as a healthy, sustainable educational tourism destination that positively impacts the environment and local economy.
