Abstract

The escalating importance of cybersecurity in the digital era fuels the demand for skilled professionals across various sectors. Competitions like GEMASTIK assess students' cybersecurity proficiencies through Capture The Flag (CTF) challenges and Attack-Defense simulations. However, the lack of adequate training platforms poses a challenge for students preparing for these competitions. This research aims to develop a CTF and Attack-Defense training system for GEMASTIK preparation. The system leverages the CTFd platform for CTF problems and establishes a virtual environment for Attack-Defense simulations. The methodology employed is Research and Development (R&D) using the waterfall model , encompassing needs analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and evaluation Black-box testing results indicate that all system functionalities operate effectively (100% successful). Evaluation using the System Usability Scale (SUS) yielded an average score of 82.6 , signifying good usability according to users and deeming the system viable as a training platform. Nevertheless, the Attack-Defense simulation has limitations due to its local network operation , suggesting further development is needed to more closely emulate the actual competition.
