Abstract
Catapaw UMKM is a pet care business that produces medicines and supplements for animals such as cats and dogs with petroleum jelly and goat colostrum as the main raw materials. The company experiences overstock which increases storage costs and reduces efficiency. This study analyzes the inventory control system using the EOQ and POQ methods, and compares them with the methods used by the company. The data analyzed came from June 2024 to May 2025, covering the amount of purchases, production needs, ordering costs, and storage. EOQ produces the optimal order quantity with a lower frequency, while POQ determines the ordering interval based on average needs. As a result, EOQ reduces the cost of petroleum jelly to IDR182,332 compared to the existing method of IDR211,336, and POQ is more efficient for goat colostrum with a cost of IDR584,014 compared to IDR1,454,909. Calculation of safety stock and reorder points is also carried out as part of the control strategy. The application of the EOQ and POQ methods helps avoid excess or shortage of stock, reduces costs, and increases long-term efficiency.
