Abstract

West Pesisir Regency is a regency located in Lampung Province, Indonesia. This region possesses natural tourism potential that attracts both international and domestic tourists, particularly Tanjung Setia Beach. Tanjung Setia Beach is renowned for its high waves, making it a prime destination for surfing enthusiasts. Each year, the beach hosts the World Surfing League (WSL) international surfing competition. With this event, the number of tourists visiting the area continues to increase annually. To accommodate this growing demand, a facility that offers complete amenities such as lodging, retail spaces, restaurants, spas, and supporting facilities for surfing activities is required. A mixed-use resort hotel is an ideal solution to meet these needs. However, since the site is located in a tropical climate, an architectural approach that responds appropriately to the climate is necessary. The purpose of this design is to plan and develop a mixed-use resort hotel that provides accommodation for both international and domestic tourists seeking leisure and recreation. The design objective is to create a resort hotel using a modern tropical architectural approach that can accommodate the needs of a wide range of visitors. The methods employed include field observation, literature review, and precedent studies. It is expected that the mixed-use resort hotel in West Pesisir designed with a modern tropical architectural approach can offer comprehensive facilities for tourists while also delivering a positive impact on the local community.
