Abstract

This study discusses the role of legal counsel in supporting the peace process in civil cases. Legal counsel has an important role in encouraging mediation and peaceful dispute resolution, both in and out of court. Using qualitative methods and an empirical legal approach, this study examines the role of advocates through interviews with legal practitioners and analysis of related regulations. The results of the study indicate that legal counsel plays a role as a facilitator in mediation, but there are still obstacles in the implementation of peace due to the lack of understanding of the parties. Therefore, efforts are needed to increase legal awareness and optimize the role of advocates in the peace process.
