Abstract

In the current digital era, the low level of psychological well-being in Gen-Z is influenced by the high level of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) and low self-worth due to social media use. This study focuses on the relationship between Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) and self-worth with the psychological well-being of Gen-Z. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) and self-worth with the psychological well-being of Gen-Z. Testing the relationship of self-worth with the psychological well-being of Gen-Z. Finally, how to test the relationship between Fear of Missing Out (FoMO and self-worth with the psychological well-being of Gen-Z. This study used 159 respondents at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, Faculty of Geography Class of 2023 aged 19-20 years, Faculty of Law Class of 2022 aged 20-21 years, and Faculty of Psychology Class of 2021 aged 22-23 years, with cluster random sampling. Cluster random sampling is a sampling technique to determine the sample if the object being studied is very broad, then the sampling is done randomly (Napitu et al., 2024). This study uses a quantitative correlational approach and scale as a data collection tool. Data analysis used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS software version 30. The results of this study indicate that the hypothesis is accepted because Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) and Self-Worth have a significant relationship with Psychological Well-Being Gen-Z. The results of the F test in this study showed a sig value of 0.001 (<0.005). The Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) variable has a negative relationship with psychological well-being gen-z with a sig value in the T test of 0.000 (<0.05). The self-worth variable has a positive relationship with psychological well-being gen-z with a sig value of 0.001 (<0.05).
