Abstract
Stunting is one of the public health problems that is still a big challenge in Indonesia. Stunting reflects a failure to fulfill children's basic rights to access to health, adequate nutrition, and a decent living environment. This condition is a clear indicator of the low quality of human development in a region. The purpose of this study is to analyze the development of stunting in children, with a focus on sanitation, poverty, aveage years of schooling, and life expectancy age. The analysis was carried out through panel data regression for the period 2021-2023, with coverage of the Regency and City of Central Java Province. The model selection test in this study resulted in the Random Effects Model (REM) as the selected model. The test results show that Poverty (KM), Average Years of Schooling (RLS), Life Expectancy (UHH) have a negative effect on Stunting (ST), Proper Sanitation (SL) has no significant effect on Stunting. These findings indicate that stunting prevention efforts in Central Java need to seriously consider social factors in the formulation of more targeted policies.
