Abstract

Mustard (Brassica rapa var. parachinensis L.) is a high-value horticultural commodity, but its cultivation in open fields faces challenges such as pests, extreme weather and low light intensity. In the dry season, mustard greens grow well but prices are low, while in the rainy season production decreases due to excess water, causing prices to rise. Greenhouses are an effective solution because they can protect plants from unstable environmental conditions. Although more controlled, the environment in the greenhouse still needs to be monitored so that parameters such as temperature, light, and humidity remain ideal. This research designs an IoT-based Smart Greenhouse system using DHT22, BH1750, Soil Moisture YL-69, RTC, and Water Level sensors, as well as an ESP32 microcontroller. This research aims to design an automatic monitoring system based on IoT (Internet of Things) technology by utilizing sensors to measure important parameters in mustard growth, namely air temperature ranging from 20-35°C, light intensity of 1700 lux, and soil moisture ranging from 60-80% all sensor data can be monitored through Blynk. The system is also equipped with a manual fertilizer spraying notification feature with a smartphone and monitoring through the Blynk application. The results of the research and testing of this system are that the system operates well in the sense that the microclimate conditions can be monitored and controlled automatically using a smartphone with the Blynk application.
