Abstract

Employee workload is important factors that affects productivity, efficiency, as well as the mental and physical health of workers. Toll collectors are responsible for determining the vehicle classification category during transactions at toll gates. This jobs requires high concentration and strong physical endurance, as toll collectors must serve a large number of road users in a short period of time with a high level of accuracy in each transaction. This study aims to determine the level of mental and physical workload of toll collection employees through an analysis of their work activites. The methods used include the Modified Cooper Harper scale to measure mental workload and the Nordic Body Map to assess physical workload. Data collection was carried out through direct observation of work activities, invterviews, and questionnaries completed by respondent who served as the research object. The Modified Cooper Harper method is a research instrument used to measure subjective workload and the Nordic Body Map method utilizes a questionnaries to assess physical workload. The analysis was conducted by classifying workload levels based on the Modified Cooper Harper scale and summarizing the scores from the Nordic Body Map questionnaries. The results of this study from the basis for proposing improvements to reduce excessive workload, both mentally and physically, in order to enhance the comfort and occupational health of toll collector.
