Abstract

The rapid development of technology and the internet has driven the increasing use of online games as a form of digital entertainment favored by various groups, especially young adults. Although online games offer benefits such as entertainment, stress relief, and improved cognitive skills, excessive use also has the potential to cause negative impacts on psychological well-being, such as addiction, stress, depression, and aggressive behavior. The phenomenon of cyberbullying that often occurs in online game interactions further exacerbates the psychological condition of players, especially individuals with low mental resilience. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between hardiness and cyberbullying perpetrators with the psychological well-being of students who play online games. This study used a quantitative correlational method. The population used in this study were undergraduate students at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta who play online games with a sample of 104 students. The results obtained in this study showed a positive relationship between hardiness and cyberbullying perpetrators with psychological well-being with an R Square value of 88.5% with an effective contribution of hardiness of 6.82% and an effective contribution of cyberbullying perpetrators of 81.64%. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, the significance value for hardiness (x1) and cyberbullying (x2) is 0.000 < 0.05, and the calculated f-value is 386.939 > the table f-value of 3.09. This proves that there is a significant relationship between hardiness (x1) and cyberbullying perpetrators (x2) and psychological well-being (y).
