Abstract
This study aims to examine the dynamics of conflict among martial artists (pesilat) in the Madiun Residency area, as well as to identify the underlying causes and impacts of such conflicts at both individual and social levels. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with five informants from various pencak silat schools, each with more than ten years of experience. The findings reveal that conflicts are triggered by factors such as mockery of school symbols, historical grudges, excessive group fanaticism, and provocation through social media. A lack of character education, emotional regulation, and clear ethical codes within the schools exacerbates these tensions. The consequences include social unrest, material damage, a tarnished public image of pencak silat, and a decline in youth interest in traditional Indonesian martial arts. This research emphasizes the importance of character education integration, internal monitoring, and responsible social media use as preventive measures. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for silat school leaders, authorities, and the broader community in fostering a culture of peace within pencak silat circles
