Abstract

The objectives of this study are: (1) to describe the influence of digital literacy cultivation through Chromebook media on strengthening the creative dimension of elementary school students, (2) to analyze the influence of the habit of smartphone use outside school on strengthening the creative dimension of elementary school students, and (3) to explain the simultaneous influence of digital literacy cultivation through Chromebook media and the habit of smartphone use outside school on strengthening the creative dimension of elementary school students. This study employed a quantitative approach with a census design. The population in this study was 103 students in grades V and VI. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed through descriptive analysis, normality and heteroscedasticity tests, t-test, F-test, multiple correlation test, partial correlation test, multiple regression analysis, as well as effective and relative contribution analysis. The results show that digital literacy cultivation through Chromebook media (X1) and the habit of smartphone use outside school (X2) simultaneously have a significant effect on the creative dimension of elementary school students (Y). The findings also indicate that both Chromebook-based digital literacy cultivation and the habit of smartphone use jointly play a role in strengthening students’ creative dimension; however, the influence of smartphone use was found to be more dominant compared to the use of Chromebook media. This study underscores the importance of integrating Chromebook-based digital technology in learning to foster students’ creativity, as well as the need for positive guidance regarding students’ smartphone use outside school.
