Abstract
The diverse learning styles of students cause confusion for teachers in selecting appropriate learning media. Currently, the learning media used by teachers in elementary schools are limited to images and worksheets, which are insufficient to accommodate students' learning styles. Therefore, there is a need to develop learning media that can accommodate all students' learning styles. This study aims at 1) describe the current IPAS learning media in elementary schools, 2) describe the results of the development of interactive learning media based on SAVI, 3) test the feasibility of the media, and 4) test the effectiveness of interactive learning media based on SAVI for the IPAS subject in elementary schools. The method used in this study is R&D (Research and Development) with the ADDIE development model. The subjects of this research and development are teachers and sixth-grade students at SDN 01 Jatikuwung and SDN 01 Bulurejo, Gondangrejo, Karanganyar. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The research instruments used were expert media validation questionnaires, subject matter expert questionnaires, practitioner questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and tests. Data analysis utilized both qualitative and quantitative methods. The research findings indicated that 1) the media used in the study—videos, YouTube, and PowerPoint—were not specifically designed for interactive learning, and the media used were still general in nature and lacked appeal for students. 2) The media was developed in the form of an interactive website integrating somatic elements (joint movement simulations), auditory elements (narrative explanations), visual elements (video illustrations and images), and intellectual elements (practice questions), 3) the media feasibility results by subject matter experts were 92.5%, media experts 96.8%, and practitioners 85.71%, all in the highly feasible category, and 4) the SAVI-based interactive learning media was effective in improving learning outcomes and learning motivation among sixth-grade students with an N-Gain score of 0.59, falling into the moderate category.
