Abstract

The Indonesian shipping industry has experienced significant growth with the increasing number of foreign and domestic ships sailing in Indonesian waters. This study analyzes the feasibility of a ship chandler business through a case study of PT. Samoedra Rodja Barokah located in Batam. The study uses a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis approach and a 4P (Product, Price, Place, Promotion) marketing mix strategy to evaluate the potential of the ship chandler business. The results of the study indicate that the ship chandler business has promising prospects with a high level of demand for logistics and ship spare parts. Market opportunities are wide open with the increasing ship population, but the main challenge lies in building client trust and finding reliable suppliers. This study recommends the development of a more aggressive marketing strategy and strengthening the supplier network to increase the company's competitiveness.
