Abstract
The phenomenon of school dropouts is a situation experienced by some children, which causes them to stop attending formal education because they are affected by various factors. So it is necessary to have social support and motivation to increase resilience in children who drop out of school. Resilience is a person's ability to face challenges, overcome problems, respond to confusion, recover from failure, and make positive changes. Resilience is related to good psychological adjustment when facing difficulties, where each individual has a different level of resilience. This study aims to reveal the relationship between social support and motivation with the resilience of children who do not continue their education in Mojorejo Village, Karangmalang Subdistrict, Sragen Regency. The subjects of this study amounted to 69 people, with a sampling technique through distributing a questionnaire containing 75 statements divided into 25 items each per variable. The age of participants in this study was 10 to 19 years old and consisted of females and males. This study used a questionnaire instrument consisting of a resilience scale, social support scale and motivation scale. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling technique. The findings of the study showed an influence between social support and motivation on the resilience of school dropouts. This study concluded that there is a significant influence between social support and motivation with the resilience of school dropouts. Therefore, there are 2 hypotheses in this study, namely the major hypothesis of the influence of social support and motivation with resilience. Then the first minor hypothesis is that there is a positive influence between social support and resilience, the second is that there is a positive influence on motivation and resilience. Based on the existing data, it can be concluded that the greater the social support and motivation, the greater the resilience of school dropouts. The implications of the findings of this study can be used to increase resilience for children who drop out of school.
