Abstract
Work readiness is a condition in which an individual demonstrates positive behaviors related to employment, which are acquired through training and both formal and informal learning experiences. The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between self-efficacy and social relations on work readiness, with career maturity as a mediating factor. The research subjects consisted of 151 alumni from the Civil Engineering Faculty of UMS who graduated in 2023, 2024, and 2025, selected using proportional stratified random sampling. The method used was quantitative with analysis through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that self-efficacy is significantly related to work readiness through career maturity (p = 0.007), self-efficacy is related to career maturity (p = 0.001), and self-efficacy is directly related to work readiness (p = 0.000). Career maturity also has a significant relationship with work readiness (p = 0.000). In contrast, social relations do not have a significant relationship with work readiness through career maturity (p = 0.629), do not directly relate to work readiness (p = 0.164), and are not related to career maturity (p = 0.623). This study highlights the importance of self-efficacy, career maturity, and social relations in enhancing work readiness, particularly among fresh graduate alumni.
