Abstract
Strengthening character education is one of the government's breakthroughs in improving character values, one of which is religious character, namely behavior that follows the teachings and beliefs of the religion one adheres to, respects religious differences, and is tolerant of the practice of other religions and beliefs. The phenomenon of religious character degradation occurs among new students who are prospective members of Hizbul Wathan UMS. This study aims to describe the process of implementing religious character through the curriculum management of the Education and Training (Diklat) program of Hizbul Wathan at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, as well as to describe the supporting and hindering factors in the implementation of religious character through the curriculum management of the Education and Training (Diklat) program of Hizbul Wathan at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of various parties involved in the implementation of Diklat. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of religious character is focused on the aspects of faith, worship, and morality through curriculum management based on Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling (POAC). Curriculum management begins with planning the themes and objectives of the activities, forming the structural team of trainers, and concluding with postDiklat evaluation. Supporting factors for this implementation include the strong ideological values of Hizbul Wathan and systematic support from the organizational structure. Challenges encountered include time constraints, participants' physical conditions, and a lack of initial understanding of religious values. This study concludes that a well-planned curriculum management system can serve as an effective tool for instilling religious character through non-formal education within the Hizbul Wathan UMS environment
