Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between social support and stress coping with academic burnout among vocational high school students. A quantitative correlational approach was employed, involving 64 students from SMK Duta Karya Kudus selected through simple random sampling. The research instruments consisted of three scales: the social support scale, the stress coping scale, and the academic burnout scale. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The analysis results showed that, simultaneously, there was a significant relationship between social support and stress coping with academic burnout (R = 0.456; p < 0.05), with an effective contribution of 20.8%. Partially, social support showed a significant negative relationship with academic burnout (r = -0.429; p < 0.05), and stress coping also showed a significant negative relationship with academic burnout (r = -0.258; p < 0.05). These findings indicate that the higher the social support and stress coping abilities of students, the lower their level of academic burnout. Therefore, social support and adaptive coping strategies are important factors in preventing academic burnout among vocational high school students.
