Abstract
Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) are strategic instruments in village economic development in Indonesia that function not only as economic institutions but also as catalysts for community empowerment and optimization of local resource potential in accordance with Government Regulation Number 11 of 2021. This study aims to examine the implementation of BUMDes Telaga Madirda Abadi in achieving its objectives based on the PP and analyze the application of Good Corporate Governance principles in the management of BUMDes in Berjo Village, Karanganyar Regency. The research method used is an empirical approach by collecting data through observation and interviews, as well as qualitative analysis of secondary data. The results of the study showed that: 1) the implementation of BUMDes Telaga Madirda Abadi in adjusting to PP Number 11 of 2021 has been quite significant, especially in improving the local economy and village original income. Efforts to manage village assets, public services, and digitalization of the economy have begun, but there are shortcomings in service quality, technology coverage, and human resource (HR) capacity. Challenges such as limited HR, low use of digital platforms, and business competition from surrounding villages are obstacles that need to be anticipated. ; and 2) the application of the principles of Good Corporate Governance in the management of BUMDes Telaga Madirda Abadi shows awareness, especially in the aspects of transparency, accountability, responsibility, but there are shortcomings in the application of the principles of independence and fairness in risk control, external audits and facing intervention from external parties and social practices that are not yet fully professional. BUMDes Telaga Madirda Abadi has shown a good initial commitment in implementing GCG principles as a foundation for good and sustainable management.
