Abstract

Generation Z is known as a generation that tends to give up and despair easily. These characteristics give rise to the phenomenon of adversity quotient vulnerability among Generation Z, especially in final year Generation Z students. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between peer social support and self-efficacy with adversity quotient in final year Generation Z students. This study uses a quantitative correlational approach. Data collection was carried out using a peer social support scale, self-efficacy scale, and adversity quotient scale. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The number of samples was 105 final year Generation Z students who were working on their thesis at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. The data analysis used in this study was multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between peer social support and self-efficacy with adversity quotient (p = 0.000 < 0.05), so that the hypothesis in this study is accepted. The effective contribution was 72.7% with details of peer social support variables contributing 2% and self-efficacy variables contributing 70.7%, the remaining 27.3% was influenced by other factors.
