Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the influence of: (1) the Human Development Index (HDI) on the level of poverty reduction in districts/cities in Java & Bali; (2) Determine and analyze the influence of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) on the level of poverty reduction in districts/cities in Java & Bali. The research model used in this study is quantitative. The number of samples is 128 districts/cities in Java and Bali in 2020-2023, so the number of data is 512 data. The research data uses secondary data. The data collection method uses documentation. The data analysis technique uses multiple linear regression. The results of the study conclude: (1) HDI has a negative and significant effect on the poverty level. This occurs because HDI can increase work productivity, income and the ability of the community to meet their needs; (2) GRDP has a negative and significant effect on the poverty level. This occurs because increased economic growth will provide opportunities for the community to increase income, thereby reducing the poverty level; (3) HDI and GRDP have a significant effect on the poverty level. This occurs because HDI shows the community's ability to meet their needs and GRDP can increase community income.
