Abstract
Quail is one of the sources of meat and egg production. Quails have small bodies, rapid growth, relatively high egg production, short generation intervals, and relatively fast incubation periods. In quail cultivation, there are many obstacles experienced by farmers, one of which is the lack of efficiency of feeding. Many farmers still feed manually, which requires a lot of human resources. This research aims to create an IoT (Internet of Things) based automatic quail feed system that utilizes the internet and solar power as a remote control medium using a microcontroller. The arrangement of components needed in making automatic chicken feed includes, RTC (Real Time Clock) sensor functions for setting the quail feed time. Servo motor as opening and closing feed. Water pump is used to supply drinking water needs. Water level sensor as a notification of the state of water volume to give orders to the water pump to fill the water container automatically. ESP 32 as a control center or data processor, and also plays a role in giving commands to components or sensors and access to blynk. The 16x2 LCD functions to display conditions or updates that occur in the feed, such as digital clocks from the RTC. When feeding, it has succeeded in obtaining the results of the current comparison when the tool is not working with the one that is working, especially when driving the servo motor. When the device is on standby, the current is 0.1 A, while when the device is working, the current ranges from 0.19-0.22 A. For the water pump, the standby time is 0.1 A, while when the water pump is running, the current ranges from 0.2-0.28.
