Abstract

Education is incomplete if it only produces graduates who only have intellectual intelligence without being balanced with the religious spirit that students should have. Therefore, education should also internalize Islamic religious values in the form of teaching in the classroom and in the form of teaching outside the classroom in the form of IMTAQ extracurricular activities. In order to obtain responses to the problems to be researched, the focus of this research is: (1) To describe the process of internalizing Islamic religious values in students through extracurricular activities at SMP IT Smart Scholar Karanganom. (2) To describe the supporting and inhibiting factors for the internalization of Islamic religious values at the Karanganom Smart Scholars IT Middle School. This type of research is field research which is qualitative research. Then using a phenomenological approach, and collecting data based on observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis in this research uses Miles and Huberman theory analysis. As for the gains from the research, namely the internalization of Islamic religious values to students at SMP IT Smart Cendekia Karanganom, namely through the Islamic Program, Extracurricular IMTAQ and KBM (Teaching and Learning Activities). Of the three programs, the researchers found 3 Islamic religious values embedded in these activities, namely Faith/Aqidah Values, Worship Values and Moral Values. Islamic religious values are implemented well in students as evidenced by student behavior. Factors supporting the internalization of Islamic religious values in students such as schools providing upgrades and understanding to ustadz and ustadzah, contributive facilities & infrastructure, schools holding collaborations with parents/guardians of students and so on. While the inhibiting factors are from the personality of the students as well as from the teaching human resources (internal factors) and environmental and social influences as well as controlling parents who are still lacking (external factors).
