Abstract
The use of alternative energy continues to develop in order to reduce the use of non-renewable earth materials. Photovoltaic or PV is a device that can generate electrical power by utilizing sunlight. When the solar cell in the PV is exposed to sunlight, the electrons inside will move and generate electrical energy. This system is known as PLTS or Solar Power Plant. Off-Grid type PLTS stores power using batteries. This research aims to develop a device that can store electrical charge, is portable, and includes monitoring for power reading and a protection system so that the device operates optimally. SCC, battery, and inverter are the main components, and it uses BMS, active balancer, and LVD as the charging control system and battery protection, as well as NodeMCU ESP8266 and PZEM-017 module for real-time monitoring. Based on the test results, the difference in values between monitoring and measurement has an error of ±3%. The I2C LCD is able to read data without an internet connection; if the internet is connected, the program will continue to send data to the MQTT application. This research uses LiFePO4 batteries, which have good performance within a voltage range of 3.3 V to 3 V per cell, thus requiring 4 battery cells connected in series. The LVD is set to cut off the voltage when the battery approaches 12 V as battery protection. The energy that can be stored in the battery is 226 Wh, while with protection, the energy absorbed is around 170 Wh. It takes 4 hours and 20 minutes to charge the battery using a 160 Wp solar panel, and 2 hours to charge the battery using a 320 Wp panel. The data in the active balancer test initially had a 10% difference between the highest and lowest cells, which was reduced to only 0.2%.
