Abstract
Adolescents with broken homes often trigger psychological problems related to behavioral problems, emotions, academic achievement, and interpersonal relationships. Special interventions are needed to improve the psychological well-being of adolescents with broken homes. This study aims to determine the effect of mindfulness training to improve psychological well-being in adolescents with broken homes. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test post-test with control group design. Fourteen adolescents with broken homes who were previously identified as having low or moderate psychological well-being participated in this study and received 9 sessions of the "Adolescent Mindfulness Program". Measurements were made using the Ryff psychological well-being scale which has been adapted into Indonesian. The results showed a significant increase in the psychological well-being of adolescents with a sig of 0.006 <0.05 after training. However, this study was less effective because it was implemented in a short time, so that the therapeutic effect was not felt after 2 weeks. So, it can be concluded that mindfulness training can improve the psychological well-being of adolescents with broken homes.
