Abstract

Embezzlement is a crime involving the abuse of trust in the control of another person's property for personal gain. Embezzlement in motor vehicle rental services is a significant issue considering the high frequency of incidents that harm the vehicle owner. The crime of embezzlement is listed in article 372 of the Criminal Code. This lesson wants to observe the regulations governing the law and ideas in preventing and overcoming vehicle embezzlement in motor vehicle rental services, using a normative (doctrinal) legal approach method, because in this study it essentially examines the law which is defined as the norm that exists in society and as a guide to attitudes for each individual, which is comes from secondary and primary policies by collecting data from literature studies. This learning results in an analysis of embezzlement criminal policies in motor vehicle rental services has been regulated in Book II of the Criminal Code, especially in Articles 372. Embezzlement committed through document forgery can be subject to Article 263 of the KUHP. The implementation of this policy is carried out by criminal law, handling without criminal action will impact every citizens observation of crime as well as from the mass media. Efforts to overcome it in motor vehicle rental services are carried out through preventive efforts and repressive efforts.
