Abstract
Modern agriculture faces significant challenges, such as climate change and the growing demand for food. Hydroponics, a soil-less cultivation method, offers a solution with better control over nutrients and environmental conditions. However, managing nutrient levels in hydroponic systems still requires automation to improve efficiency. This research aims to develop a nutrient monitoring and control system for hydroponics based on the Internet of Things (IoT), using an ESP32 microcontroller, fuzzy logic, and MQTT protocol. The system is designed to monitor key parameters such as pH, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), and water temperature in real-time, and automatically control nutrient and pH pumps to maintain optimal conditions for plant growth. The study was conducted at Taman Herbal Lawu, which has faced issues like bolting and root rot due to unstable nutrient parameters. The system utilizes pH, TDS, water temperature (DS18B20), and air humidity (DHT11) sensors, as well as pumps controlled by fuzzy logic to improve nutrient regulation accuracy. Data from the sensors are displayed on an LCD and sent to a server via the MQTT protocol. This system development is expected to make hydroponic cultivation more efficient, accurate, and capable of supporting sustainable agricultural productivity.
