Abstract

This study explores the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in the subject of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and Character Education at SMP Al Islam Kartasura. Employing a qualitative research design, data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that the curriculum implementation aligns with key principles of differentiated instruction, student-centered learning, and project-based activities aimed at reinforcing the Pancasila Student Profile. Despite initial challenges—such as teacher adaptation to the new curriculum framework and limited educational infrastructure—these obstacles have been progressively mitigated through targeted professional development and institutional support.
