Abstract
Intercultural Communication is an important point in the approach of a culture. Whether in a foreign culture or a culture that has just entered into another cultural environment. Indonesia is recorded as having 1,239 cultures, both in the form of knowledge of the universe. Community customs, performing arts, traditions, oral expressions and also national crafts. The same thing in this event makes intercultural or inter-ethnic marriage unstoppable in Indonesia if it makes existing laws both customary law and state law. Of course in a marriage has its own conflicts, especially in inter-ethnic marriages between Javanese and Dayak raises several questions in inter-ethnic marriages conducted in a intercultural perspective. This writing has a problem formulation, namely: How does cultural acculturation occur in Javanese and Dayak ethnic couple in Pangkalan Bun, Central Kalimantan? So that this research is appropriate in the concept of intercultural communication with the theory of acculturation by Berry wich forms an interactive with existing cultures. The method used is a qualitative study of four Javanese and Dayak inter-ethnic marriage couples along with key informants from the Dayak Customary Chief (Demang) and also Islamic Religious Leaders in Pangkala Bun, Central Kalimantan. This study found that each couple's decision resulted in different answers, in that the influence of the new culture that came in made the couple to stay in the habit or leave the original cultural beliefs.
