Abstract
This study aims to examine the use of the Merdeka Mengajar Platform (PMM) application by teachers, describe the academic supervision of school principals in supporting teacher performance, and identify challenges and solutions in its implementation. This research employs a qualitative method with a ethnografi approach at SD Negeri on the outskirts of Jatipuro District, using observations, interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate that teachers' utilization of PMM varies depending on their level of digital literacy. Teachers with strong technological skills find it easier to use PMM, while those with limited skills face difficulties. Academic supervision through PMM enables principals to monitor teacher performance more efficiently, but direct interaction remains necessary for effective coaching. Key challenges include the limited time available for principals to conduct in-depth evaluations, unstable internet connectivity, and teachers' lack of technological proficiency. Proposed solutions include more flexible supervision time management, improved network infrastructure, and training and mentoring programs for teachers unfamiliar with PMM. In conclusion, the effectiveness of PMM-based academic supervision relies heavily on teacher readiness, infrastructure support, and a balanced approach between digital supervision and direct communication. Continuous efforts in training and mentoring are essential to optimize PMM’s role in enhancing learning quality.
