Abstract
This study aims to analyze the contribution of the principal's managerial competence in planning and implementing the Child-Friendly School (SRA) program in elementary schools. Additionally, it identifies the principal’s role in implementing the program, explores the involvement of teachers, students, and parents, and examines the challenges faced along with the solutions applied. The research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach at SD Muhammadiyah Program Unggulan Jatipuro. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis to gain a comprehensive understanding of the principal’s role in implementing the SRA program. The findings indicate that the principal's managerial competence plays a crucial role in designing and managing the SRA program. The principal ensures the involvement of all stakeholders through teacher training, the establishment of safe zones for students, and active collaboration with parents. In the implementation phase, the principal integrates child-friendly values into school policies, provides supporting facilities, and manages resources effectively. Key challenges include teachers' lack of understanding of the SRA concept, budget constraints, and low parental participation. Solutions applied include continuous training, budget optimization through partnerships, and more intensive communication with parents. In conclusion, the success of the SRA program depends on the principal’s leadership in creating a safe, comfortable, and supportive school environment for children. Collaborative and innovative strategies are key to enhancing the effectiveness of this program.
