Abstract

The auction system and facilities of TPI Sarang initially had less than optimal conditions, so the local government made improvements to the TPI infrastructure with the aim of improving previous facilities and being able to help fishermen increase their income. The purpose of this study was to a) analyze the effect of TPI development on fishermen's income, b) evaluate the role of TPI in increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the fish sales process, and c) identify the advantages and disadvantages faced by fishermen due to TPI development. The method used is descriptive qualitative where data is obtained from observations of the research location and the results of interviews with parties related to this study, namely fishermen, traders and the community who carry out auction activities at the TPI in Sarangmeduro Village, Sarang District, Rembang Regency. The sampling method used is purposive sampling by observing the Fish Auction Place during the auction process. The construction of the Fish Auction Place (TPI) has a significant effect on fishermen's income. The expansion of the auction place and the addition of facilities at TPI help to increase access to fish marketing. TPI helps fishermen get better prices and speeds up the sales process, thereby increasing fishermen's income. There are levies given by the TPI to fishermen which aim to maintain facilities and improve fish management at the TPI.
