Abstract

Conflict between martial arts schools is a phenomenon that still often occurs in society. This prolonged conflict resulted in death. The city of Madiun is nicknamed the city of warriors, where this city is the center of martial arts schools in Indonesia. So this research specifically aims to empirically examine the phenomenon of fanaticism that occurs among members of silat colleges and the patterns of conflict that occur in these groups. This research uses a qualitative phenomenological approach. The research subjects taken were teenagers aged 15-17 years, active members of the martial arts school in Madiun, who had been involved in brawls or carried out aggressive behavior. The number of subjects was 6 teenagers. Data collection methods use observation and in-depth interviews. The results of the research show that teenagers have the most correct assessment of their martial arts skills. loyalty and the value of brotherhood that drives them to become fanatics, when one of the members is involved in a conflict they will also be moved to get involved in that conflict. The fanaticism that appears among members of silat colleges is divided into two factors, namely internal factors and external factors. Internal factors include self-confidence, a sense of pride and loyalty between martial arts schools.
