Abstract
Background: Fencing is a martial arts sport that uses weapons. Players in this sport must be able to parry or counterattack more quickly to defend themselves from opponents' attacks. In the game, this sport uses many techniques that involve the lower extremities, especially the knees. The knee joint is widely used in playing techniques, so it has an important role in field sports because it bears enormous pressure. If training is not balanced with a balanced duration, the risk of knee injury will increase. Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between training duration and the incidence of knee injuries in fencing athletes. Method: This research uses a quantitative research design with a cross sectional approach. This research was conducted on 43 respondents. Data was taken from the results of filling out questionnaires by respondents. Results: The results of the study showed that the correlation test between duration of exercise and the incidence of knee injuries showed a sig value > 0.05, meaning that H0 was accepted or there was no relationship. Conclusion: Based on this research, the conclusion is that there is no relationship between the duration of training and the incidence of knee injuries in fencing athletes.
