Abstract
This study aims to explore the extent to which maternal feeding practices influence the nutritional status of stunted infants and identify other factors that contribute to children's nutritional conditions. This research employed a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of mothers with stunted infants aged 6-12 months selected using purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire assessing feeding practices and anthropometric measurements of infants. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of 0.05. The study found that out of 25 infant respondents, the majority had normal nutritional status (72%), while 28% were undernourished. The Chi-Square test results showed no significant relationship between maternal feeding practices and the nutritional status of stunted infants (p = 0.599). This indicates that other factors, such as sanitation, parenting styles, and family economic conditions, also contribute to infant nutritional status. Maternal feeding practices are not the sole determinant of stunted infants' nutritional status. Therefore, a more comprehensive approach is needed to improve children's nutritional status, including improving access to nutritious foods, educating mothers about optimal feeding practices, and enhancing sanitation and environmental conditions.
